THE FEEL

Staying true to its roots, Ellisville has not confined itself to typical suburban and concrete design. Characterized by older subdivisions, there has been much growth with the construction of townhomes, duplexes, and apartments. Homes in this neighborhood range from modest to large, sitting on anywhere from a half to three acres.

HISTORY

The history of the community dates back to the 19th Century. Captain James Harvey Ferris of Kentucky originally settled the area in 1837, but later sold the property to William A. Hereford. Hereford named the city after his former post office in Ellisville, Virginia.

ACCESSIBILITY

Five miles south of Interstate 64 and five miles north of Interstate 44, Ellisville isn’t far for commuters and only a 30 minute drive from the airport. Route 100, or Manchester Road, also runs through the neighborhood.

CULTURE

Ellisville is made up mostly of families; however, it welcomes more diversity. There is also a growing population of young adults between the ages of 25 and 44.

ENTERTAINMENT

Despite the 600 businesses within its borders, the appeal of Ellisville is being outside. There are eight parks in the neighborhood alone, spanning 165.8 acres and connected by a seven-kilometer trail system.

SCHOOLS

Perhaps one of the most favored aspects of the community is its dedication to education. Ellisville is part of the Rockwood School District, which is highly noted for providing a top-notch curriculum.
